Eventhough the roundabout monument is relatively ordinary-mediocre design, the terms (bunderan monyet) oftenly help signifying and direct a person into any place around Balikpapan Baru housing complex.

Raden Sudirman was the name of one of the great Indonesian general in the 1950's. He responsibles for military activity during the Indonesian National Revolution.Born in Purbalingga, 1916. After Indonesia Proclaimed its Independence on August 17th, 1945, Sudirman led a break out, then went to Jakarta to meet President Sukarno, then being tasked with overseeing the surrender of Japanese soldiers in Banyumas.In late 1949 Sudirman’s Tubercolosisrelapsed, and he retired to Magelang, where he dies slightly more than a month after the Dutch recognised Indonesia’s independence.Until now every major cities in Indonesia named their main road after the great general.in Balikpapan, one of his monument is standing in front of the office of KODAM (Komando Daerah Militer VI Mulawarman at Jl. Jendral Sudirman.
